How To Get To Stella Artois Portsea Polo
1. Car
Point Nepean is approximately 100kms from Melbourne CBD which takes 90-120 minutes by car during the busy summer holiday season. Onsite car parking is very limited and fees apply…..see below for more information. Please consider carpooling and if you intend to drink please ensure you have a designated driver so that you can leave the site without fear of failing a breathalyser test.
2. Bus
On event day there will be an official 'Portsea Polo Bus Service' operating from Sorrento continuing along Melbourne Rd and Franklin Road to Portsea and into the Portsea Polo event. Incoming services will operate every 30 minutes from 10am until 1.30pm, and will service all stops on the normal bus route. Because of expected demand from patrons being 'dropped off' in Sorrento an additional bus will service the Sorrento to Portsea loop. Last outgoing service leaves Portsea Polo at 6.30pm. Tickets are $10 return. Click here for bus schedule.
3. Free Shuttle
Patrons wishing to be dropped off near the event should do so at one of the bus stops on the Sorrento/Portsea loop service, or at the Point Nepean Park entrance. A free event shuttle will operate between the Point Nepean Park Entrance/Visitor Centre and Portsea Polo Event from 10am until 6.30pm.
4. Helicopter
Arrive in Style at the Polo! Enjoy a 30 minute scenic helicopter flight along the Mornington Peninsula coastline. Flights depart on the hour from Moorabbin Airport (other depart locations also available) and land at Portsea Polo. For more information please click here for brochure or
contact Heli-Serv on 1300 724 927 / (03) 9588 0145 enquiries@heli-serv.com.au
Onsite Car parking
Onsite car parking is available at $20 per vehicle. There are a very limited number of onsite car parks available so we suggest you pre-purchase a car park pass online to avoid disappointment. Car park passes will only be available at the entry gate on event day if they have not sold out beforehand. The car park is in operation from 10am to 6.30pm and please note that cars cannot be left onsite overnight - they must be removed from the site by 6.30pm. Please also note that there is NO parking available near POINT NEPEAN or in the surrounding neighbourhood. Please do not park in surrounding streets or parks, as this is the cause of much aggravation for residents of the area. You run the risk of being fined or towed, as police and council rangers will be targeting illegal parking.
Dress Code
We suggest neat casual attire for all guests. Ladies should avoid wearing high heeled shoes as these are not suited to the Polo Ground & surrounds.
Dogs & Pets
Please note dogs & other pets are not permitted in Point Nepean Park or the surrounding precinct (guide & disability dogs excepted)
Pass outs
There are strictly NO PASSOUTS permitted at Stella Artois Portsea Polo so please ensure you bring in everything you need for the day.
What To Bring
Please ensure you bring your tickets, photo ID, sun protection and money for food/drink. General Admission ticket holders may also bring along snack food, water/soft drink in sealed plastic bottles, as well as fold out chairs or picnic rugs for use in the general viewing area only.
What Not To Bring
The following items cannot be brought into the event – alcohol or illicit substances, tents, tables, eskies, umbrellas, glassware, cutlery, sharp knives, unsealed plastic bottles, professional cameras (small cameras are permitted) or anything that could be used as a weapon. All bags will be searched on entry by security staff and any contraband will be confiscated and donated to charity.
Public Catering
Stella Artois Portsea Polo is a licensed event with food, alcohol, soft drinks and water available for purchase. You can bring your own snacks and water in sealed plastic bottles. Any contraband will be confiscated and donated to charity. Water taps will be provided free of charge.
